Teepee Rocks is one of the most unique geological phenomenon’s found in Southern Idaho.
HOW TO GET THERE?
To get to Teepee Rocks, take Trapper Creek Road south of Oakley, and you will follow the Oakley Reservoir into the beautiful back country known as the South Hills. About 20 miles in, keep an eye out for a fence with a dirt lot
Follow the dirt path heading north, up a big hill, and you will start to see these fascinating rock formations. We continued our hike by walking up the steep, sandy hill that leads you to the top of the cone shaped rocks. Here is where we had the most picturesque scenery, getting views of the eccentric, white teepee rocks with the beautiful green country in the background. We walked around the short trails throughout the rocks, took pictures and enjoyed the peacefulness.
FIRST TIME AT TEEPEE ROCKS?
The first time we went to Teepee Rocks we parked far away and walked in, this was because I had a front wheel drive car. If you drive a truck then it’s much easier to get close and visit the rocks. The second time around I decided to park closer with the help of my truck
