Park History:

The Discovery unit of the park is so named because it was in this vicinity that the Wilson Price Hunt party “discovered” the Boise River and its fertile valley in the early 1800s.
Lucky Peak Dam was dedicated in June 1955.
The Spring Shores marina and associated boat rentals have been popular with Boise’s boaters since the establishment of Lucky Peak Lake in the mid-1950s.

The Spring Shores Unit offers lakeside access for water enthusiasts by providing two boat ramps, parking, a full-service marina, on-site watercraft rentals, and a convenience store.
The park has picnic areas and playgrounds.
The park also features backcountry yurts which are managed from Lucky Peak State Park, they include cooking facilities and utensils.
There are over 50 miles of marked ski and mountain bike trails.
